Jan 6 2010
MUCH of Warwick and Leamington was covered in a blanket of snow yesterday as temperatures struggled to rise above freezing.
While the morning saw fairly light showers across the 2 towns by the evening the snow was coming down much heavier in parts of the county.
Freezing temperatures also led to many schools being closed due to the extreme forecasts making journeys to schools hazardous.

Only light snow showers were expected today but already large flurries have developed causing more chaos and temperatures are still not expected to be any higher than 0C with a cold wind.Warwickshire Police have issued a warning to drivers urging them to consider whether their journeys are completely necessary while the roads remain icy.
They have said: “Untreated roads and pavements are likely to stay very slippery.
"We would urge people to take care so that they avoid the risk of slips, trips and falls if you are on foot.
